As a former SSN expert, the secret is in opening the drivers side door after the SSN and power outage occurrs. Opening the Door and closing it appears to reset the system for a clean attempt at a re-power up. (repeat as necessary) ;)

Glad things worked out for you as well! After my 12 different SSN episodes, and 3 months of utter denial from Ford I was able to force them to buy it back. Ordered a Tesla model S in October. Things have been much more gratifying since late December delivery! No more Fords for me.

In my case, it sounds like a software issue. I'm pretty sure I heard them mention that this update had to go through EPA approval before it could be rolled out. Funny, eh?

Unfortunately none of the steps should be necessary - but in the interest of getting your car safely moving once again I added that one to verify the car does not return to normal, and then to proceed to the next step. It's a bit sad that it has come to this..
