Installing an additional battery

Has anyone tried, know anything about, or heard of someone installing an additional battery into the FFE in order to increase the range of the vehicle?

Does anyone think that the idea of purchasing additional batteries to extend the range of the FFE has been or is being socialized at Ford?

I love my FFE - but could really use another 30-40 miles.

The battery new from Tousley Ford AutoNation parts is $17,000. It apparently requires some very specialized tools to remove or install.

Here is a thread on the Rav4 EV forum about adding a 38kWh pack to the trunk.

If we can tap into the battery terminals a 10kWh pack can be added for extended trips..
