Hmmm, I don't hardly ever use cruise control. I drive 95% in the city at under 45mph. Lots of stop n go. If I had to attribute it to something, it seems maybe I see it more when I unplug my charger from the wall and the charge isn't complete. But, I have no proof of 'this happens every time...
I've been getting a yellow wrench seemingly randomly and relatively infrequently (maybe 6 times in 4 months). It usually goes away by itself the next time I get in the car. I've initiated a vehicle health report while the wrench is displayed on the dash, but the report always comes back clean...
I wish there was a local EV club! I used to be very involved in the SVTOA in the Detroit area, but found that the car scene isn't as exciting in Ohio since moving here 10 years ago. Maybe it's time to help get the word out again.
I agree that an extra battery pack would be nice, but that would only give you another 80 miles of range. Plus, would you carry them (600 lbs) with you or expect to stop every hour and half to swap them out at a 'service station'? The reason the idea of the trailer was so appealing to me was...
About a week ago, I read an article similar to this one (http://www.wired.com/autopia/2010/11/range-extending-trailer-charges-your-ev-carries-your-gear/) and can't get the idea out of my head. I figure I would pay around $5k for something like this concept to have the option to drive my EV on a...
I'll offer a couple of suggestions. I've had my FFE for about 4 months now and am getting more than the 76 claimed on the sticker, about 90 or so, but not nearly the range I see others getting. First, driving styles vary for all of us and will affect your range. The regenerative braking...
WindPowered - I'm in exactly the same situation. The EV dealer I bought the car from is about 45 miles away. I'd prefer to not make the trip and go to the local dealer only 2 miles away. I was hoping to see if others were successful in getting the update by non-EV dealers. I think I'll go...
Congratulations and welcome to the club! I've had my FFE for 4 months now and I still smile everytime I get in it. My ICE vehicle that I've kept for long trips and 'just in case' sits in the garage and currently has a dead battery from lack of use.
I didn't see much discussion about traction in this thread. My wife and I used to race autocross and we adjusted our tire pressures based on traction. We used two tools, a thermometer and white shoe polish on a section of the tread and wall, to make our adjustments. As little as 5 psi can...
