In a letter from Ford informing me of the MyFord touch software V3.6 upgrade it also said the following.
As publicly announced previously, we want to remind you that the limited warranty of your SYNC with MyFord Touch system has been extended to a total of five years from the warranty start date, regardless of mileage. This additional coverage not only exceeds the original warranty coverage provision of your vehicle, but also includes future important future software updates. Please keep this letter as a reminder of this extended coverage (12M02)
