Navigation no longer rotates the map as car turns

I was asking two questions, but thanks for the snarky remark. Which such welcoming forum members, no wonder this forum is so dead. Good luck with your problem.

    Scheduled Maintenance

Is this really the only scheduled maintenance for these cars? At every 1 year or 10,000 miles (16,000 km) service Rotate tires, inspect tire wear and measure tread depth Perform multi-point inspection (recommended) Inspect brake pads, shoes, rotors, drums, brake linings, hoses and parking...

Navigation no longer rotates the map as car turns

What does the red triangle in the top left corner of the upper photo mean? What does the View button do? The Red arrow button does: Change the appearance of the map display by repeatedly pressing the arrow button in the upper left corner of the screen. It toggles between three different...

    best lease good till 1/31/13

On a lease the Federal tax credit goes to the leasing company (Ford), not the buyer. The State incentive can go to the buyer, depending on the State.

    SoCal Range Estimates

The SCE site only provides a comparison between your current electric + gasoline costs and what the electric bill would be if you replaced your car with an EV, and then provides the comparison for 3 different rate structures (without detail of what the actual pricing is that they used). Their...

    SoCal Range Estimates

Thanks for the tip, yes I'm with SCE. I went to SCE's plug-in vehicle web site and did their analysis. For my situation, it looks like having an EV vehicle is actually more expensive per month. Their results indicate $22 a month more than my current car, even when using a dedicated meter under...

    SoCal Range Estimates

I found an app to calculate the range and energy usage for the Leaf. I assume the Focus is equal or better. If I did it right, my 60 mi round trip at 65mph and 60 degrees would use 16.2 kWh, which works out to 324 kWh per month. My electric rate would be pushed to at least Tier 4 (32...

    SoCal Range Estimates

Thanks. At the end of your 40 mile commute, how much range do you have in reserve? I don't thin it ever gets under 40 degrees here, and I can walk to lunch if needed. What kind of range can I expect at 80 mph in the car pool lane? :)

    SoCal Range Estimates

Those are encouraging results. I'm a flat lander, so I don't have to contend with the Sepulveda Pass.

New driver to the EV community.. hello

"Only" $362 for license fees is excellent.....for California that is! They must use the lower Cap cost to calculate that, that's a big savings. I think you can still claim the $2500 state rebate directly, and not through the dealer.

    Lease terms on FFE?

The $2500 from the State comes as a check from the State and not a tax credit when you file your tax returns like the Feds? How long did it take to get the check once you submitted the paperwork?

Wow, sounds like an awesome deal!

    SoCal Range Estimates

Thanks everyone for the input! Does the vehicle have a kw/hr gauge that indicates your energy usage in real time? It would be interesting to know the usage at higher speeds, like 70mph in the carpool lane. Thanks again

    SoCal Range Estimates

I've been considering a Focus Electric but have been waiting to get some real-life data on the actual range experienced by drivers. My commute is in SoCal, 31 miles each way, all but 6 miles are freeway in the carpool lane. No hills to speak of and the car pool lane flows at full speed in the...

New driver to the EV community.. hello

Thanks. That's the offer I heard of. It almost seemed too good to be true, because don't you still get $2500 back from the State of California? One other question, how much are license fees? Do they base it on the MSRP or a reduced amount, I guess maybe the capitalized cost around 30K.

New driver to the EV community.. hello

Congrats on the new wheels! If I can ask, what are terms of your lease? I read Ford has some great lease rates going now on the EV Focus. Almost too good to pass up. I think I might get one too!
