Here in Hawaii, Leafs are king. A lot of them have the slower 3.3kw chargers and sit all day in the charging stalls. This alone prompted me to install a 2nd phase of PV on my roof. Couldn't be happier now, and never worry about depending on a charging station.

Constantly alternating the flow of energy in a battery will lesson it's life. It may not be obviously perceivable. Some EV makers are looking into Super Capacitors to buffer the temporary energy shifts to protect the battery from having to do it.

Wouldn't less regen equal longer battery life? Unless there's a super capacitor hidden somewhere in the FFE.

The Focus ICE has a gas tank that's located under the car, and holds approximately 100 pounds of gasoline. Both batteries of the FFE are significantly above where the gas tank should be, and weigh in at 600 pounds. I'm pretty sure it's safe to say that the FFE has a higher CG than the Focus ICE.
