Modem upgrade for a 2016 FFE

Is it possible to upgrade the modem on a 2016 FFE so I can use the Fordpass?

Yeah, I thought 2016 was the first supported year for CSP 21B09. They had to extend it past the original end date of May 2022, but I have no idea if it's still running. You'd want to reach out to a dealer.

Just talked to my dealer and he said it was not available anymore. So frustrating

Knowing the modem part, you can probably order it for another current car model and still get it programmed. Pretty sure it's the same as the current C-Max and others. Many of the units that shipped out to us needed an update to their "firmware" and the dealer has to put the config in anyway, so programming was already going to be involved.

You'll be on the hook for the parts and the labor but you can almost certainly still get it.

To do the modem upgrade, I used the modem from a 2017 Ford Escape. It was the same part number as the modem supplied in the upgrade kit.
I just did a search on ebay for one, and stumbled upon this, similar to the modem I bought. This not a voice control module.
