Ford is hosting a live chat sessions with 2 of their engineers:
Chuck Gray, who is the Ford Hybrid and Electric Vehicles Cheif Engineer, and Bob Taenaka who is the Ford Battery Technical Lead.
The chat is happening on Thursday, July 21 2011 at 1:00p.m. EST
The topic of conversation for the Ford chat will include what Ford Engineers have discovered with having more than 170,000 hybrid vehicles on the road, many of which have been in service for 10 years.
Ford has some data that apparently shows you may be twice as likley to win the lottery as you would be to have a durability issue with a Ford Hybrid vehicle. This should be interesting!
Bob Taenaka previously helped engineer batteries that went on a spacecraft to Jupiter - so building batteries for the 2012 Ford Focus Electric should be a piece of cake. The durability of the Ford Focus Electric batteries is essential as they push to roll out 5 different Ford electric vehicles by the 2012.
