I have had my FFE for about six months now and I have 4,500 miles on it. I love the car and it fits the intended commute purpose well. I have an old 911 for when I need extra legs.

Drove into town yesterday to do a bit of shopping. Finished and began the trip home. I stopped at a stop sign still in the shopping center parking lot and I received a message indicating I needed to stop safely, well I was already stopped. I played around a few minutes and I could not reset the issue. I pushed the car into a parking space out of the traffic.

Got the manual out as I had a small wrench showing on the dash and did not know what that indicated. Manual was no help it just said I needed to take the car to a dealer. I wound up deciding to reboot the PLC and disconnected the 12V battery for a moment. I am not sure why but none of the set up stuff was reset but my problem was. My radio presets, seats, clock all remained as they were. Drove the 20 miles home with my fingers crossed and had no more issues.

I assume that this was the same issue as discussed by many where the car says pull over quick as the car has a problem. In my case as I was not moving the warning was similar but a bit different.

No, the only recall notice I have received so far was for the led lamps associated with the parking lamps. It will be a big deal for me to get my car into a dealer. My local dealer is not an electric dealer and the closest one is out of range so I will be towing or trailering the car. I did read a little about a recall for this issue but it was noted as pending. Where can I read about the recall you are talking about?

thanks,

I posted some links about it here:

I also have a blog post about it here:

You can also check your recalls from the Ford Owner website (http://www.fordowner.com). You can log in there using your http://www.syncmyride.com credentials--if you don't have syncmyride credentials you can register at syncmyride.com. Make sure you have your VIN handy when you do.

Checking the website like jmueller recommended is the best fastest way to see if your car has a recall. I saw that notice and scheduled the update long before the letter ever arrived.
