Looking at this Ford press release:
http://media.ford.com/content/fordmedia/fna/us/en/news/2014/01/03/ford-offers-sync-applink-for-3-million-more-customers.html
That first bullet point indicates, to me, that they will finally update MyFord Touch to get AppLink working. This has been one of the biggest complaints to Ford about MyFord Touch (after, of course, all the complaints about it not working). The Gen 1 version of Sync offers AppLink and they keep advertising more and more smartphone apps that interface/work with it (MLB, Sirius, Pandora, Spotify, etc.).
If you don't know: AppLink is a system in Sync that allows 3rd party applications to be integrated in and voice controlled. With AppLink you can "talk" to the MLB app, the Pandora app, etc.
The bigger thing with this is that: There is another MyFord Touch software update coming down the pipe--I wonder if it will fix/break anything else besides AppLink?

Industry-leading Ford SYNC® AppLink™ will be available on 3.4 million more vehicles later this year; free upgrade enables current Ford owners to access and control smartphone apps via voice command
