    Suspension creak

Sorry folks that it has taken me so long to post my follow up, but I have some info. I took the dealer mechanic for a short ride around the back of their building on May 15. Turned the wheel side to side and ran over a couple of manholes. Clunked beautifully. They found both front stabilizer...

    Suspension creak

I have a 2013 FFE and have just begun to notice a front end clunk. We've had a rough pot hole winter, maybe related to that? I have also noticed it when turning the steering wheel back and forth rapidly. I checked all tires for wiggle (like loose lug nuts) and found nothing. It seems it might...

    Stop Safely Now

I had my SSN occur last year at 5300 miles. Long time in the shop. Bummer but I loved the car and still do. My problem was the wiring harness, and once replaced, I am up to over 12,000 miles with no problems.

Intelligent access keys & leaving your key in the vehicle

My 2013 FFE will unlock by touching the backdoor handle if the front has momentarily locked me out. Anyone else able to do this?

range question for current FFE owners

Reading complaints of how much energy is used going up hills immediately makes me suspect driving style is the culprit. Whatever your means of propulsion, hills use up a lot more energy. Try a slight deceleration going up hills and you will change your watt hrs per mile usage enormously.

    Goodbye to my Focus Electric?

I'm not feeling your enthusiasm for electric vehicles. I'm delighted with my FFE, even though I live in the northeast.

    Goodbye to my Focus Electric?

We went more than a year with only 115volt and it worked fine. There are a lot of charging hours between getting home in the evening and leaving for work. I finally got the higher voltage charger after sometimes using up range on longer trips during the day. I still don't use it much in the summer.

    Limited charging

Thanks as usual for your thoughtful replies. The blue ring at all times showed a full charge. I have made sure both trip meters were zeroed to disallow my driving habits. This morning the charge is full blue and 83 miles showing. But something weird did happen a few days ago (lasting for 3 days)...

    Limited charging

Driving conditions were light if anything, and no use of heat or air conditioning. It is unlike anything previously experienced. Charging for 10 hours plus with practically no change is strange. I made sure I really had a connection, and the same occurred at three different charging locations...

    Limited charging

As most of us do, I watch my charge often. For the last two days of moderate temperatures (60's) I have noticed that the car only charges to about a 68 mile range, no matter level 1 or 2, and no matter how long on the charger(s). I have a 2013 since Feb that year, with 8500 miles on it. Thoughts...

    Sync fart!

I've had numerous Nav card blipouts. I just push the onscreen button and it starts. I love my car, but the Ford Sync is certainly its largest fault. I mostly ignore the messages about updating, because I am happy to see it trying to fix stuff, like the clock or the entirely blank screen. Not to...

Suggestion for Ford regarding charging door

i get a friendly laugh about people who think the door opened by itself. Thinking back after the event, i am always uncertain that I closed it. and I didn't. As I mentioned once about having door freezeup in the winter, that can be a hairy experience. The very fact that the door is flexible...

"we won't be wasting a fortune on Electric cars"

I've said and lamented this before. if Ford doesn't advertise the FFE and has none in many showrooms, they aren't going to sell enough of them. How many buyers of the Leaf even know the Ford exists? So whatsup? Maybe it really is just a California compliance car after all. Beats me. i love my...

How-to Evaluate Battery Health at Dealer

Wattsup, you are absolutely correct about the watt hours/mile. it was over 410! I have been doing a lot of heating. I have seen a steady reduction in range estimate, and I realize now how the average is being dragged down probably by the heater current draw and those thermometer single digits...

How-to Evaluate Battery Health at Dealer

Sorry, I'm not being clear about the symptoms. Battery state of charge when I. Get into car to drive is what I'm talking about. Will not go above 62 no matter how long it is charged, nor whether 208 or 120 volt. I. May have a catastrophic failure. just checked now. Outdoor temp is 41 degrees and...

How-to Evaluate Battery Health at Dealer

Thanks for your thoughtful suggestions, but I didn't mention I am taking readings without heater on, and under similar weather conditions, thus my notation of temperature. I am as anal as any of you about driving style vs performance. I have had the car slightly more than a year under two...

How-to Evaluate Battery Health at Dealer

I have the impression that my FFE may have lost a lot of charge capacity and I now realize that I should have been keeping a log of time, charges and temperature and how much charge is shown in the morning. I am now and i recommend that we all do so. I have had my car for a year and it seems not...

    Wrench light

My car is at the dealer's, as I mentioned before for the wrench light indicator. I have been told to get the car back, and that it may be a problem with the main battery pack, but to drive the car until the fault comes on again and then bring it back. I'm only about 12 miles away from the...
