Your friend would be wise to pass on this deal. He can get a 2013 with only 6,000 miles or so for less than $17,000. There are loads of these around because of the SSN recall.
I actually looked at getting a 2013 from them but I got a new 2014 for $29,500, so $22,000 even after the credit. I thought in the end it was worth the extra money to stay away from a lemon buy-back. I hope it works out for you.
