Ford is recalling the 120v evse that came with your FFE. Well, some of them anyway. If youve got one like mine that does not have the heat sensor in the plug then they are replacing that one free of charge. My plug was kinda melted and had white goo coming from the common spade. It set off gfi plugs all the time. I guess I'll get a new one if my car ever gets fixed.

Put it back together, trade it in, then put that sucker on ebay for $500. LOL.

I agree: It is likely the returned ones will get scrapped (or, hopefully, recycled). I doubt they'd refurbish them; especially if the circuit doesn't have the provision for a thermistor.

I believe the thermistor is in the plug, not the circuit board.

The thermistor is in the plug but the circuit board has to have the circuitry to do something with that signal (reduce the current to 8A if I'm not mistaken). So it is a little bit more than just a thermistor in a plug.

I pity the people who have factory cords for sale on eBay and other places. The value of the old ones should plummet.
