I have basically the same story.
I returned my leased 2014 FFE in August of 2017.
I was able to track it due to MFM still being tied to my phone and active.
By the end of August, it sat in a wholesaler's warehouse in Rio Linda Ca. (just north of Sacramento, Ca.) until about October.
Then it sat in the warehouse of Inter Global Logistics company in San Leandro Ca. until Dec 4th.
On December 7th, I got a notice that my car was fully charged. So, I checked the vehicle locator and found the car was now in Amman, Jordan.
I was sent a request, and I granted administrator rights to the new owner. They registered one key, but the other is still personalized to me.
I now have the gmail address for the new owner, and intend to send them a note.
This has been very interesting. I thought it may have been bought by a US serviceman sent to Jordan. But now I see the new owner's name appears what I would guess to be Jordanian.

Correct me if I'm wrong, the only way it could have gotten from CA to Jordan in 3 days would be by air, right?

I just received an offer on the 2013 FFE that I’m selling. The buyer said that he had a dealer’s license and wanted to send the car to Jordan. I don’t know if the buyer will follow through but thought it was interesting that the buyer was willing to buy over wholesale for a car to ship to Jordan.

There must be quite a market for used Focus Electrics in Jordan.

The car was likely in a shipping container in transport to Jordan sometime after October. With no mobile connection to update it's location to Ford's servers it would still show it's last location until it acquired a mobile signal in Jordan to update it's new location. Frankly I'm surprised. I figured the data connection would be country specific and the TCU wouldn't communicate with overseas mobile networks.
