Focus Electrics in Jordan

My lease on my 2013 FFE ended on 8/15/16. I didn't realize it was still connected to my old MyFordMobile account until I got an alert today of low tire pressure. I logged in and see that my old FFE now resides in Jordan! It took almost a year after I turned in the lease before it found a new home. I know it had been for sale at two different local dealerships at one point, then it was in Florida. I guess no one in the US wanted it, so it ended up in Jordan!

I still miss my FFE. My Model S is nice, but for the price I don't think anything beats the 2013 FFE back when it was new. Now there are more EVs, but improvement has been so slow. I wish I could've kept my FFE and that Ford would've been willing to negotiate the residual value. The local dealerships had it listed at $10,000 and couldn't sell it. Ford wanted almost $18,000 since that was the residual on my lease and wouldn't budge one dollar for me to buy it at the end of the lease.

I noticed in another thread that there seem to be a number of Focus Electrics in Jordan. I think that's really cool.

That is super cool to see where the car ended up. We all bought them so early in the game, and the cars feel almost like children. Nice to know your car went out in the world and found a new home someplace very different.

I had the same experience at end of lease, wouldn't budge on residual value one cent.

Oh I found out our car did sell from my local dealer. The salesman we know really well told me it sold not too long after we turned it in.

You're lucky Ford didn't turn off your account. You must have turned your car in just before they changed that policy. When we turned ours in last December, Ford turned off my access to the car a few weeks later.

Don't know if you saw this, there are three superchargers in Jordan. There must be some kind of incentive for electric cars in Jordan. It is the only country in the Middle East with superchargers.

Well, Facebook has a group called "Ford Focus Electric Club - Jordan" which has over 9000 members. It's hard to imagine there are that many FFEs there, but (at least according to Google's translation services) they do seem to be having on-topic conversations on the group.

Kind of unbelievable, actually. There have only been about 8000 FFEs sold in the USA since 2012. I find it improbably that Ford has sold any where that number in any other country,

I am the first person to own the Ford Focus in Jordan
I sought to spread it because it was wonderful and worthy of proliferation

How are they getting over there? Are you guys specially seeking them out or is someone buying out a lot of FFE lease returns and moving them overseas? Sounds odd with the apparent lack of dealer support over there...

Yes, there is a large importer who buys large quantities of Ford returns in America
the car has achieved a wonderful success due to the nature of the terrain - and moderate climate
most cars are clean with carfax
in Jordan love Ford cars

Re: Focus Electrics in Jordan

Hi there!
I have basically the same story.
I returned my leased 2014 FFE in August of 2017.
I was able to track it due to MFM still being tied to my phone and active.
By the end of August, it sat in a wholesaler's warehouse in Rio Linda Ca. (just north of Sacramento, Ca.) until about October.
Then it sat in the warehouse of Inter Global Logistics company in San Leandro Ca. until Dec 4th.
On December 7th, I got a notice that my car was fully charged. So, I checked the vehicle locator and found the car was now in Amman, Jordan.
I was sent a request, and I granted administrator rights to the new owner. They registered one key, but the other is still personalized to me.
I now have the gmail address for the new owner, and intend to send them a note.
This has been very interesting. I thought it may have been bought by a US serviceman sent to Jordan. But now I see the new owner's name appears what I would guess to be Jordanian.
