12 Volt Lithium Battery from Ohmmu

Fri Mar 25, 2022 10:28 am

So today I have placed my order for a 12 Volt Lithium battery to replace the Lead Acid one in Misty. The Lead Acid one weighs 30 pounds, and the Lithium one is 11 pounds. That's a decent amount of weight savings. I will post pictures when it comes, and when I put the motor and gear drive back in the car. I bought the battery from this website https://www.ohmmu.com/product-page/12v- ... issan-leaf.

There are far cheaper options out there. I bought one similar to this a year ago. https://www.amazon.com/Lithium-phosphat ... B08FJ44ZBP

The brand on mine was moseworth and doesn't appear to be on amazon anymore. it has a 50A rated BMS that will cut power to protect the battery if battery voltages drops below 10V. So far in the last year I've had no problems with it. My advice is to find one that fits and has a BMS that protects against low voltage.

Wow, I wish I would've seen that before getting the Ohmu. It's 1 pound lighter than the Ohmu, but over half the price!

It's not quite $100 cheaper than what I paid for mine.

I think the OHMMU ones can be used to start an ICE where these cheaper ones can't put out more than 50A. So there's that I guess...
