Re: Coolant Level goes down when hot?

I am glad you eventually got your situation worked out. Ford was being a jerk to the dealership, because dealerships try to screw over the manufacturers. Ford wants proof, because they are to be paying the bill. The majority of the people working on the electric cars, and this isn't just with Ford, ...

Re: Coolant Level goes down when hot?

I am sorry that you are not having any good luck with your situation. I do not have full access to Forscan, but your logic sounds good. 0 would be midway between -45 and 45. Set the three valves to that midpoint, turn the three pumps to highest speed, and let it run for 20minutes. Check the level in...

Re: Coolant Level goes down when hot?

From the service manual: Cooling System Filling and Bleeding Activation NOTE: Have an adequate amount of Motorcraft® Orange Antifreeze/Coolant ready to fill the cooling system. Once the pumps are activated, the coolant level in the degas bottle will fall very quickly. Do not allow air into the cooli...

Re: Coolant Level goes down when hot?

Not to be snarky, but there is no engine in a FFE. Additionally, the coolant temperatures are nowhere near as hot as in an internal combustion engine The hoses that serve the degas bottles (coolant reservoirs) are much smaller than those that move the coolant through the pumps. There is a great poss...

Re: Battery overheating? during drive and charging

My car has the following codes u019B <- HS CAN communication lost between BECM and SOBDM while battery was charging, could be a connector. U0100 <- HS CAN communication lost between BECM and PCM, vehicle will not start, could be a connector. U0111 <- HS CAN communication lost between BECM and GFM2,...

Re: Stop Safely Now Warning

So there are 12 different things that could go wrong and the same code will come up. What a design! Maybe, there might be slight differences in the codes, that would help identify where the problem is. Nevertheless, it might be possible to do a continuity check of the loop at a few strategic points...

Re: Stop Safely Now Warning

I just did a quick google search on P0A0A. So generically, when there is an HVIL failure, this code is set. HVIL is High Voltage Interlock Loop. I made a post a couple of weeks ago about a poorly connected high voltage connector in my 2017. In that, I talked about 2-stage high voltage connectors. We...

Re: Battery overheating? during drive and charging

Not to be snarky, but your seasoned Ford Tech has or has not pulled codes from the vehicle? You might want to consider looking at my post from the other day about "Something to Check on Your Car". It could be that you have a similar problem with a falsely secured HV connector. Maybe not th...

Something to Check on Your Car

So I was having the strangest warning on the left instrument cluster screen. I was being asked if the vehicle was plugged in. This message was accompanied by the Wrench icon and "See Manual". Also the plug icon was seen. The vehicle could not go into drive until I answered No to the questi...

Re: My 23 KW battery is being replaced

James, I can't upload the service procedures, but if you pm an email address, I will send them there. And yes, the procedures state: Installation 1. NOTICE: If the battery is being replaced, the coolant filter must replaced or component damage will occur. To install, reverse the removal procedure. R...
