Re: HV Battery Issues - Out of Warranty

I call BS on behalf of the dealer. Coolant corroding terminals. Not likely. If there was coolant in the battery, they could tell you how much drained out when they checked it. To anyone who dismantled their battery because of coolant leaking, did you find the source of the leak? Was the coolant lea...

Re: AT&T sunset and MyFordMobile app

Looks Like Ford is giving the middle finger and not providing the 5 years of MFM as purchased with the car for those still within the 5 year service period of when they bought their car. How generous of Ford to pay for labor to install and program the TCU that the owner must buy to use the remainder...

Re: Why does it take so long to get a battery?

1) Cold does not harm the a lithium ion battery. It's actually good for them while not in use. Only charging a sub freezing battery is bad. I think it's more to do with the fact that in it's entire production run, there were barely more than 9k of this compliance car made. With that few made and eve...

Re: AT&T sunset and MyFordMobile app

PLEASE tell us how you got the upgrade for free. The FFE came with 5 years of service. Ford is contractually obligated to provide the service for this period so they must provide the 4G modem to those who have not reached 5 years yet. That is how it is free for some. There was a FSA specifying who ...

Re: AT&T sunset and MyFordMobile app

AT&T is decommissioning their 3G network that our cars use. You should have gotten a notification in MFM that MFM will cease to function with the decommissioning of the 3G network. The 4G modems use the my ford pass app. From what I hear not all MFM functionality is available in the my ford pass...

Re: Battery positive contactor stuck closed

Hope you are under warranty still. Ford doesn't do component level repair on the battery. They will only replace the whole battery pack. If you are handy and competent to work on high voltage systems (ie won't electrocute yourself), you could probably put a new contactor in assuming you can find one...

Updated this to show what I did to get rid of the hub nag screen without spending a fortune on the "approved" USB hub. See OP above.

Re: EVSE With Adjustable Amps

Confirmed at least with my '14 FFE and JuiceBox EVSE: 5A is the minimum current for both 120V and 240V. When I set current on the EVSE to 4A the car will not engage at either voltage. Set to 5A and it starts charging. Interestingly, my FFE got pissed when I went from 240 to 120 without unplugging fr...
