By definition you can't keep it in the blue forever. It bases your est. mileage to empty based on the performance of your last drive or so.

I am not sure but is the motor also cooled by the trans fluid? There is water/glycol coolant to carry the heat away but I wouldn't be surprised if the motor windings were bathed in the oil too for heat transfer.
