Re: HELP! car dead when turning off engine

Could still be the 12V. Check the voltage with a load on the 12V. But yeah I think Anti_Climax nailed it. Sounds like a bad connection to the 12V battery.

Re: Catastrophic failure of low-milage Ford Focus

Where are you located? If you are at all an inclined tinkerer you could disassemble the battery clean it up and bypass the coolant lines. You really need to be committed to safety though as these batteries have voltages that will kill you fast if you don't pay attention to what you are doing and tak...

Re: Stop Safely Now + Empty Coolant reservoir - Won't drive

There are rubber "drain plugs" that you can easily reach from laying on the ground behind the car. I believe it is the "upper" or rear most battery pack that most often leaks. If you pull the drain plug and coolant comes out, you have made your diagnosis. Scroll down in this thre...

Re: Potential Focus Purchase

Yay it was dry! Those plugs are a pain to pull out and almost harder to push back in. Especially when it's cold and snowing. I did change the coolant this summer and have just recently used the heat for the first time since. I'm hoping the low coolant was just burping the air out of the heater loop....

Re: Potential Focus Purchase

LOL I was thinking electrical plugs, not drain plugs

On a more serious note, I just checked my coolant and it is low  My warranty expires tomorrow. I think I'm checking my plugs tonight...

Re: No heat

I would first try to make sure all the air is purged from the heating loop. If you have a laptop you can manually force coolant pumps on and open the diverter valves. Just don't have the pumps on 100 or you may cause cavitation which will only create more problems. You can do this with forscan and a...

Re: Lifting Points

I use the crossmember in between the rear wheels for lifting the back. I have used the control arm right under the spring but that is super sketchy and I wouldn't recommend doing that. Not sure how to describe what I use for a lifting point in the front. but it's a significant frame piece. I don't u...

Re: Potential Focus Purchase

What plugs are you referring to? the battery is split in two. The lower pack is where the gas tank would be and the upper pack is between the rear wheels partially in the passenger compartment. Honestly I would avoid a used FFE unless you can afford to be buying a paperweight. They made so few there...

davideos,

I missed it over on the fb group. Glad you got it back up and running with a relatively simple fix.

Re: care for older battery

To get kWh on your trip meter you have to turn on "Enhanced trip meter" It is there in the menus for the left screen you just have to find it and enable it.
