Re: Adding Extra Battery Power to FFE

With the cost of raw Li-ion cells going down, I am considering add external batteries (86 series) suggested in the forum but concern about triggering codes I cannot reset with Forscan. When putting the pack back together, were there any codes triggered and how did you clear them? When I rebuilt the...

Re: Check your coolant levels

"Reman" is remanufactured. Ford buys most of the battery packs from wrecked FFE's, takes the good modules, and builds another battery out of them.

Re: P0AA6 Hybrid/EV Battery Voltage System Isolation Fault

I also have the 2 post on here from when I did the coolant bypass, if that helps: (removing the pack, although you can probably get away without having to do that. You should remove the rear seats though) http://www.myfocuselectric.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4966 (tearing the pack apart and removing ...

Re: P0AA6 Hybrid/EV Battery Voltage System Isolation Fault

2 years ago when my internal coolant leak happened at 60,000 miles, my 2012 FFE was throwing DTCs P0AA6 and P1A0A. P0AA6 is battery isolation fault, or 1 leg of the high voltage potentially conducting through the battery case via leaked coolant inside the case. P1A0A is thrown when P0AA6 is detected...

Re: Coolant Change. Use forscan to get the air out?

Not sure if this helps, but when I was in the process of removing my 1 speed geardrive/ motor assembly for replacement, if 12 Volt power is still connected and you open the driver side door, the water pumps will come on for a couple seconds to cycle coolant through the loop. It was a pretty neat way...

Re: Clunk in Transfer Case (Video)

Hopefully it isn't the issue I had with my 2012 FFE (spider gears took a dump). I will do post on here pretty soon, but longy story short I bought a 2018 motor/tranny assembly from https://www.car-part.com for $350 (came to $650 total when shipping is included. The 2017-2018 assembly has stronger i...

Re: 12 Volt Lithium Battery from Ohmmu

There are far cheaper options out there. I bought one similar to this a year ago. https://www.amazon.com/Lithium-phosphate-Rechargeable-Off-Grid-Applications/dp/B08FJ44ZBP The brand on mine was moseworth and doesn't appear to be on amazon anymore. it has a 50A rated BMS that will cut power to prote...

Re: New potential owner; First post.

The FFE is not a bad car, but with it basically being an experiment car it will definitely have it issues. By the way you describe your knowledge back round, doing the coolant repair on the FFE when the time comes shouldn't be hard, just tedious and time consuming. Also, try to reframe from doing on...
