Re: Quality of Key Fob

Good idea, thank you for giving me something to try. I measured a steady 4.6 microamp's (with a fresh battery), with no button pressed. If CR2032 capacity is about 240 mAh, that should give me over 5 years ... BUT that is down to 2.0 volts. This Ford setup seems to become unreliable after the top 1 ...

Re: Quality of Key Fob

Fob battery life has gone from years to WEEKS, recently! Have to put in a new 2032 battery at least once a month now (when at about 3.01 v.). This drain seemed to start about when the car reached age 5: possible connection? Any guess about an alternative fix? I am going to wear out the fob (and my p...

Re: Thoughts on a Chevy Bolt

Seats felt quite OK to us, and our body shapes & leg lengths are Very different (my wife's legs are much shorter). No complaints about them. (Don't know about the rear seats: almost never used, aside from packages.)

Re: No heat.

You meant that "re-post" request for another person, probably for jmueller065.
I did find a file I downloaded in Jan. 2017 called "Lesson-3-Cooling-System.pdf" ... but do not see how to attach it here!

Re: Two electrics in the house

We now have a Bolt and an FFE: each has plus's and minus's in comparison. Chevy better range of course, also better turning radius and nice seat height adjustment. Ford rides better (a matter of opinion ... wife thinks otherwise) and allows ME to decide when to turn on lights, radio, & dim the m...

Re: Ford is recalling 120v chargers

Swapped 120v charge cord at Ford dealer today; took about 45 minutes. Ran it for 1 hour, saw battery increase from 71 to 77% (in my 2015 FFE, with estimated capacity about 18 kWh, so maybe 1.1 kWh gain). My PG&E meter showed about 1.36 kW being sent to car. Felt just a slight warmth in the heavy...

Re: Stop Safely Now Warning

Ask about outstanding "Field Service Action" items (mfr. recalls).
With the VIN you posted, can go to owner.ford.com and find something.
Think I saw "12M02" but do not know what that is about.

Re: Stop Safely Now Warning

That advice about getting [or borrowing] an OBD2 reader to test the battery is good. I have a 2015 FFE, after driving a 2012 one for 3 years. Have liked both. Biggest problem: 12 volt battery died after about 3 and 1/2 years, and was glad I could "jump" it then. (Can use metal key inside f...

Re: Thoughts on a Chevy Bolt

Bolt has real advantages (range, better seat height adjustment, turning radius, ...) but there are still aspects of the FFE I like better: it is quieter (Bolt added what sounds like a pump going most of the time), it gives me a few options missing in the Bolt (turn head lights on/off only when I wan...
