Now we can clear up some questions for good, like what does the D and L stand for on the drive mode shifter? D stands for drive, and the L stands for low – same as drive, but with more aggressive braking regeneration.

The Ford Focus Electric also details the recommended maintenance schedule: change the coolant every 5 years or 50,000 miles. Everything else listed as scheduled maintenance is just checking to make sure it’s still in operating condition, such as the tires, coolant hoses, and making sure the battery connections are corrosion free.
