Ford Focus Electric gets California HOV access

Just like the Chevy Volt, the Ford Focus Electric has been granted HOV lane access. The California Air Resources Board (CARB) gave the Ford Focus Electric HOV lane access because of it’s low emissions (zero at the tailpipe) and it’s overall environmental friendliness.

Ford Focus Electric zooming through cityCARB didn’t just give the Ford Focus Electric access to the HOV lane, it also qualified the Ford Focus Electric for an additional $2500 in tax rebates through California’s Clean Vehicle Rebate Program.

The Ford Focus Electric received an official range rating of 76 miles just days ago. 76 miles is 3 miles better than the Nissan Leaf’s official range rating, and Ford is touting the Focus Electric as the most fuel-efficient five passenger car in the US.
