Ford has entered into an exclusive collaboration with SHFT.com, an award winning multimedia platform founded by actor and filmmaker Adrian Grenier and film producer Peter Glatzer.
Part of Ford’s mission, which is fairly evident in the Ford Focus Electric and other upcoming vehicles, is to accelerate the development of more fuel-efficient autos. To help with that mission, Ford is teaming up with SHFT.com to let millions of Americans save money and be more eco-conscious.John Viera, director of sustainability said “Our goal is to provide vehicles and resources to help people live more sustainable lives.” SHFT.com shares a similar philosophy of looking at both small and large actions that can make a difference. One of those large actions is of course selecting a vehicle that helps with the greener lifestyle while saving the consumer money.
Ford found that nearly half of Americans are confused about green vehicle options, with 46% not knowing the difference between a hybrid, plug in hybrid (like the upcoming Ford C-max Energi ) and a full electric vehicle like the Ford Focus Electric. Through it’s collaboration with SHFT.com, Ford hopes to address this confusion.
Ford and SHFT are brainstorming on different programs to inspire and invite consumers to take a more sustainable approach to their lives. Some things to come out of this partnership is the developing of a short documentary series, and live-event programs and film festivals to further spread their shared mission.
