New to me 2013 Focus Electric - 42 mi on full charge?

My 2013 was averaging 70-ish with mixed driving (some hills) and up to 90-95 miles strictly in city. This is optimal conditions, no AC, 70 degrees, stop and go.

    2013 FFE with MyFordTouch 3.1.3

What are the main benefits besides being slightly snappier and more stable on an iphone? I have v3.6 and am toying with the idea of going to v3.10 if its that much better.

    Show me your Garage!

Thats a creative solution. I cant believe the city enforced that rule on a cul de sac.. Either the sidewalk must have been in pretty bad shape or your city has very little to do.

    Show me your Garage!

My favorite thread on every car enthusiast forum is always the "garage" thread, where members show off their stable. This makes even more sense given EV owners have to get even more creative with charging. I want to see them! Show me your garage / charging stations! Im in the middle of spring...

    EVSE Recall mail

Here's a link to some adapters. All you need is to purchase one of these puppies and you can plug your 110v EVSE into a 220v outlet and charge at 220v 12A. Zero modifications. I'm going to look into building my own adapters, it doesn't look too complicated. These are the exact same EVSE's as the...

Auto door handle sensor not working

I think you're on to something, because they've been working flawlessly in the 20's-30's. I had issues in single digits.

    Retractable Trunk Cover

Most cars have something like whats pictured in the link. Most vehicle trunks have 2 sets of notches for multiple systems (for different markets) and that looks to be the case for the Focus. I see a second set of notches, but I wonder if its for some type of tray with storage that goes under the...

    2 Chargepoints in 1 Garage

Just got off the phone with Chargepoint and you need to have two accounts, one per charger. Looks like my garage subpanel is 100a, so I'll be able to have two 32a EVSEs in my garage! Just bought a second Chargepoint and it'll be here today.

Auto door handle sensor not working

Are they just going to break after being replaced? Is this a fruitless effort?

Auto door handle sensor not working

Anyone have the automatic lock/unlock sensors in the door handle stop working? Mine works half the time, and lately not at all. I changed the batteries in my fobs with no luck. Its under warranty, but thought I'd ask. I have an apt set up with Ford tomorrow.

    2 Chargepoints in 1 Garage

Are there any complications with using 2 Chargepoint EVSEs at home? I want to be able to charge 2 cars at the same time, and dont want login issues. I'm sure both will have no problems actually charging, but I want to monitor charging data from both vehicles (cost per KWH, ect..). Anyone have...

    EVSE Recall mail

I was lucky, my garage had 2 (220v) outlets when I bought it, and my entire (100 year old) house's electrical system was updated with a pretty beefy system, not usual for historic homes in my area. When we install solar this month, I'll be adding a couple more 220's further back in the garage so...

    EVSE Recall mail

Check out the link I posted, and skip to the last 3-4 pages. It seem like its plug and play with an adapter.. I've got to ask, why is a cheap EVSE the tipping point to being the reason you add a 220 to your garage? Surely the 220 is way more expensive than the EVSE. A few years ago I sold my...

    Wrench light

Any update on what the exact issue was? Transmission or battery? You never solved the puzzle for us. Earlier in the week while putting the car into reverse, then in drive, I got the wrench check engine light. It said "see manual". Car wouldn't drive and the shifter had little resistance when...

    Retractable Trunk Cover

I've checked Amazon, Ebay, next stop is the dealership. Do they make a retractable trunk cover instead of the fixed parcel shelf? The shelf gets in the way whenever I carry cargo, and it would be easier to retract a soft cover instead of a fixed one. I see notches in the trunk for another...

    Winter Wheels

Just got a set of 16" wheels mounted with Michelin X-ICE Xi3's, which are LLR winter tires. My drive back home was budgeted +3 miles when I arrived, which included a heater and some uphill driving. So far grip is better and my range seems to have improved! I need to head to the carwash today...

    Winter Wheels

They actually make LRR winter tires now, which is supposed to be that magic mix of both worlds. I watched a video from Michelin, and the tire is soft at low speeds but hardens at high speeds, if I remember correctly. Maybe thats backwards. Their rubber works like cornstarch: soft when you touch...

    EVSE Recall mail

From what I remember, you just need to make (or buy) a Nema 5-15 (household 110v outlet) to 220v outlet of your choice. If you search ebay Im pretty sure someone from the EV world sells NEMA 5-15 to NEMA 6-50 adapters, and the like. I should have one floating around my basement from my Volt...

    EVSE Recall mail

Yep, its the same EVSE that comes with 2nd gen Volts (made by Clipper Creek). Should just need an adapter to plug into 220V outlet and it should charge at 3.3kw or 3.6kw.. cant remember. I remember reading this thread about the subject when I owned a Volt. Owners have been using this for a few...

    EVSE Recall mail

Picked mine up today! Actually, my neighbor is a tech at Ford, so he brought it home for me. This unit looks very familiar, I'm pretty sure its the same as Chevy uses on their Volt.
