In the market for all electric

With the longer range of the new 2017 Focus Electric, you should be just fine. Especially with charging capabilities at work. Awesome. Go for it.

    ST bumper swap?

Yeah, the ST spoiler would be great. The RS one is good, but I prefer the ST style. That plastidipped black above looks badass.

    ST bumper swap?

I just miss the ST spoiler. They could make a sportier looking version of this car.

    Wheel spacers

Very minimally unless under extreme load conditions (like road course turns at higher speeds) . I had them for years.

For Sale: Set of 4 OE tires (Michelin Energy Saver) - $200

How is the traction/handling now with the 18 inch regular (non-LRR ) tires and how has that affected your range?

    Wheel spacers

Well, I traded in the ST, but the FFE cannot corner near as quickly or safely as the ST did. Not even close. The FFE has no traction and slides or hydroplanes easily in comparison. It has to be driven a little more delicately, which I do, but I have been surprised in it with slippage, so maybe...

I bought an extendable visor and replaced my Homelink one. (Blocking the sun is vastly more important to me) It was a simple swap. I'm very pleased. Anyone want to buy an ivory/light stone Homelink visor? Works perfectly.

Well, we made the plunge for a C-MAX energi as well. So, including the FFE we just bought last week, we are now fully switched to plug-in cars! With our home electricity being 100% wind power, we consider this a win for the environment and a win for America by becoming less oil dependant. :D

finding an FFE to test drive?

Greg, have you ever driven a regular Focus (2012+) ? If you have, it is very similar to that, driving-wise. It is quieter and a little as smoother in acceleration. It has more torque than a regular Focus, and it is instant, so it feels peppy off the line. If you like the dynamics of a regular...

    Wheel spacers

Has anyone put wheel spacers on their FFE? It's just for looks. My ST has them and it gives it a better stance (wider profile).

That is it exactly. We are excited about and can't wait for the proposed 300 mile range SUV ev. That will be great. The C-Max Energi seems to be fitting because my wife is a stay at home mom and just does short trips where it would essentially be an all electric vehicle, but could be...

You're probably right. It already came up where my wife had to drive her sister to the hospital for a surgery and that doctor uses a surgery center that is an hour away roughly. This gave us pause about having 2 FFEs, although we would really like that. Everything is spread out here in TX, and...

Thank you. Thank you. I have joined the C-Max forum also to learn. It hit 87 yesterday here, so maybe the preconditioning is not so much needed for us, but good to know either way. The pre-cooled car would be badass in the summer if you could do it from an app. I suppose you have to leave the AC...

I need to learn about preconditioning. I don't know what it is. We just plug in with the charger it came with and it is full by morning. I also need to figure out the difference between cmax energi and cmax hybrid.

    Newbie to EV

Ok. Cool. I think the cmax energi might make a good 2nd vehicle then. It would be mostly electric for trips around town, and if we needed to travel, it would have that capability as a backup. Perfect. That and the FFE we just got should cover everything and be as electric and near to zero gas as...

Wouldn't $50/ month on fuel cost be like.....filling up every 2 weeks? Something like that?

    Newbie to EV

I'm a Ford fan, but we are thinking for an environmental choice, maybe having one hybrid for those unpredictable events (my wife helps her/our family out quite a bit) or traveling outside the city, we might be kicking ourselves if we have two FFEs. Maybe not. Who knows. The rental idea might...

Oh, thank you. It read 60 range when we picked it up fully charged at the dealer, so it will bounce around until the driving habits are established I gather. Thanks for the tips and recommendations, everybody! Next up, a couple of questions : #1) Do any of the FFEs have the visors that...

Well, we did it! We picked up a Frosted Glass FFE with 31K miles for $8800. I charged it and it started with 72 mi range this morning. Super nice. So far so good.

Perfect. Thanks. So we took it to Carmax and the offer is $11,500. (90K miles) That is much better. I have access to the auction price but no license. I can work with the $11,500 offer. That other dealer just lost my business though.
