How do I get just outside air with no heat/ac?

You must also select a vent. If no vent is selected, the AC will run, even if the indicator light is not on.

Revisiting the A/C on while on auto

If the climate is set to LO and the AC is (supposedly) off, the compressor will run if none of the vent settings have been selected. Oddly, selecting the panel vent turns off the compressor.

Lease with old lease trade in

If they have to flat bed it in, that means they have to find one and then transport it in. I'm with Richmond, go to Sandy Springs Ford. See what they have on the lot, (Sometimes they are the only dealer in the southeast with cars actually on the lot.), and see if you can get a better deal.

    National Drive Electric Week

I'm sorry you had such a miserable time. One would hope that people who drive EVs would be more considerate than the average driver. Here in Atlanta, the event was run by The EV Club of the South, a local organization that has been meeting regularly ever since people began building EVs on...

Is my shiny new(ish) focus EV about to become worthless?

Well, someone who wants a car for commuting and grocery runs might. That is about 95% of what our FFE is used for, the other 5% being shopping on the weekends, visiting family nearby, etc. In our household, the FFE fills its intended purpose very well. When we need a car for another purpose...

Nissan Leaf vs Ford Focus Electric

My wife and I displayed our Fusion Energi and Focus Electric at the National Drive Electric Week event this past Saturday at Atlantic Station in Atlanta. My wife remarked on the number of Leaf owners who stopped to talk who said that they wished that they had bought an FFE and who said that...

    National Drive Electric Week

Atlanta got a jump on National Drive Electric Week with an event at Atlantic Station today. My wife and I took our FFElectric and FFEnergi to display along with other owners. It was great fun talking with curious passersby about our cars and about driving electric. I think that we had 15...

What's the biggest thing you miss about your old ICE?

Not an option, unfortunately. My F150 extended cab with a tonneau cover is our backup vehicle for hauling people and stuff. I didn't hear any complaints from the back seat on a three hour trip we took recently - though I'm sure they weren't as comfortable as back in the minivan days. Anything...

What's the biggest thing you miss about your old ICE?

The biggest thing was the whole inside of the back of the minivan when the seats were out. What I really miss is being able to put five adults and all their luggage in one vehicle to go on a trip. Last time we did a long trip together, I rented a minivan. I'm good with that.

    Thinking about a FFE

Waiting on the car to charge is not what I would want to be doing even if I had useful work such as grading papers to occupy my time. If she is able to plug in at work and charge while she is at work, that might be acceptable. A difficulty might occur if, for some reason, she got to work and...

    PHEV + EV Household

This really is such a smart way to go. We have been doing fine sharing one EVSE. It really helps that its 240V.

    PHEV + EV Household

Sounds like you got it all together but it took a some extra effort and it took a while. Glad you're able to enjoy your car now. What color did you get? I keep looking for FFEs and all I keep seeing are LEAFs.

    PHEV + EV Household

Given their location - North Fulton/East Cobb, they know people in the area are able to pay what they ask. They gave me exactly what the payment calculator on the Ford website figured and they replaced the grill and repaired the front bumper cover after removing the license tag bracket free of...

range question for current FFE owners

From my experience, I think that your range predictions are low. My wife uses our FFE to commute 53 miles. She regularly returns home at this time of year with 29 miles of range. We got our FFE on January 22nd of this year. The mean temperature here for 1/22-31 was 28 degrees. For those...

    PHEV + EV Household

My wife mentioned the other day that she hasn't touched a gas pump in almost four months. She drives our Focus Electric for her work commute and around town. In my previous job, I was able to charge at work. At one point, I drove our Fusion Energi for seven weeks, 1,600 miles, without...

    Hello everyone

Go ahead and get your 30 Amp EVSE installed so that you can charge in a reasonable amount of time.

    FFE short term memory

I hadn't thought of this. Thanks.

    PHEV + EV Household

Funny how that happened. My wife and I have come full circle, having both started with Fords 44 years ago and then going off into Volvos, Olds, Toyota, Plymouth, Pontiacs, and a Honda. My son bought a used 2009 Ford Focus a few years ago and it has been a champ, the most reliable car we've...
