    Battery thermal management system

I believe 240v is needed. I charge with 120v and it never kicks on for me but I live in Seattle and isn't often needed.

Would You Ever Build Your Own Electric Car?

I have considered conversions but I wasn't looking at doing the work myself. I work on bikes not on cars. djw

    SYNC update is available!

Mine went better than that. They failed on the first upgrade day 1 and day 2 they installed a new APIM and everything went perfectly. I restored mysync data without problems and the new SW is running. I did have to reset my preferences for things like windshield wipers trigger the lights but...

    Suggested improvements for Focus EV

I would classify the improvements I want in three categories. Shortterm Easier changes, harder changes, design changes. Easy Changes (mostly SW, I work as a developer) Software stability, mostly wide availablity of 3.5.1. Mapping updates and improvements, showing more EV chargers. Mapping...

would you recommend a FFE to a friend?

I love my FFE and would happily recommend it and have. Driving the FFE in [L] gives it a more one pedal driving feel though not the same as the Model S. The FFE is a second car though due its lack of L3 charging. I have never liked any car I have owned as much as the FFE. I look forward to...

No Regen During Braking for First Mile

I have noticed the same effect and it too is when I leave from home fully charged. I hadn't considered the full charge component of this and see how it completely explains the behaviour. Thanks.

    Custom Charge Times?

I don't know if there is a way but you can cheat. Set the value start time to n hours before you leave for work. Adjust N for the number of hours you wish to charge. In other words if you wish to leave at 0700 and charge for 2 hours then set the value start time to 0500. -Duncan

    Insurance FYI

I am shopping around and using the prices to push my existing insurer. Apparently keeping a perfect record customer isn't incentive enough. I have had to do this before so maybe my expectations are high but no worries. I found that All-State has the ford focus electric listed as Ford Focus...

    EV Price Wars

My FFE is a lease advertised for $199/month $2500 down. I test drove the Leaf but it was the last one available in the state and Nissan dropped their deal when it was down to 4 cars in the state.

Has anyone successfully gotten a lease?

I just got mine for $2500 down and $199/month in Kirkland, WA (near Seattle). Tuxedo Black with leather interior and a wonderful car. The deal was so good we just had to go with it.
