Elements of MyFord Touch v3.5 Update

My car was updated last week. It took overnight due to some glitch. The dealership is Flood Ford in Wakefield, RI. These people have been great. No questions, took it right in, had problems updating, called Ford who apparently was little help at all. The service manager gave credit to one...

    Our One Year Anniversary

Vet Boy. I have been keeping track of mileage Wh/mile and remaining battery % charge. I calculate 5 trips every 5,000 miles and to date I have not seen a reduction in capacity. I consistently end up with a charge of 18.7 to 19.5 kWh. Bear in mind this is subjective because I don't consider...

    Our One Year Anniversary

Today marks one year that I have owned the Ford Focus Electric Vehicle. As a little history, I ordered my car on November 28, 2011. I happened to be the first consumer to order the FFEV. My order # is 0001. I live in RI and ordered the car from Schultz Ford in Nanuet, NY. It arrived at the...

Read the forums. There are lots of posts about this issue. I, fortunently, have not had any messages, but many others have.

    SoCal Range Estimates

EVF, You are the perfect candidate for an EV, a commuter doing 15k miles per year! You will pay the cost difference off in 3.5 years. From that point on out you are saving substantial $ on gasoline and maintenance. I commute 40 miles one way, cruise control at 60mph, relatively flat route and...

    Heater

Don, Is that a one way commute? 90kM = 55 miles. One way would be a hike in this cold weather. The idea seems certainly worth trying and I would be interested in you results. My winter range has definently restricted the usage of this car. Several trips I regularly took in the summer are...

    Dead 12V battery

Tim, Leaving something on was my assumption also. No lights on, doors tightly closed. It is a mystery to me. My next test is to simply leave it in the barn for several days and see if it dies again. Wood

    Dead 12V battery

So, I went away for a week, I left the FFE fully charged and plugged in to my ChargePoint Level 2 charger. 24 hours out I started getting these messages about plugging in because the 12 volt battery needs to be charged. I called my bride and asked her to check the car. She told me the key...

    LED tail lamps or not?

I know you are referring to the 2013 FFE, however, my 2012 does in fact have LED acccents on the headlamps and taillamps..... I gather from the posts there have been several features removed from the 2013 model - autosensing wipers, auto dimming rear view mirror, garage door opener in visor...

Can get "universal garage door opener" for 2013 FFE or not?

The subwoofer was not in the 2012 either....

Humming sound when starting the car (even not plugin)

Nate - Way to go on plus 20 miles in your commute. First time out and made it!! :D Your BTW is yes, you do have to reset the trip meter each trip to be able to monitor your current, in route, kWh usage. Their are lots of tricks to use when driving to enhance your mileage. I'll tell you...

Humming sound when starting the car (even not plugin)

:D Have fun! Naterey, The number of miles on the battery is a factor of your last driving efficiency. In the Summer I have had 90 miles show up on the gauge. Start driving, you'll get it.....

Humming sound when starting the car (even not plugin)

I am not an engineer! But, like you suggested we are all into kWh and the math. Someone smarter then I, a nuclear engineer, reversed the math on the enhanced trip gauge and came up with 19.5 kWh. You can find those posts on this forum. Additionally, we are all worried about battery life...

    120V convenience charging cable

"I'm hoping that someone sends one out to EVSE upgrade to see what they can do with it, although even then an upgraded unit would only be the "slower" 3.3 kwh Level 2 charge speed." I did send my Ford EVSE to EVSE upgrade and they told me the Ford unit was not worth upgrading. The gauge wiring...

Humming sound when starting the car (even not plugin)

At 32 degrees 60 miles is cutting it close. Also, if you are home charging @ 120v then it will take all night to recharge the battery. Phoenix can get very cold. The ideal scenerio is to find some way to charge at work. Other workarounds are to charge the car in the morning with the heater...

    Technical Service Bulletin TSB 12-8-20

Mountaineer, You have been a busy blogger today. Good information on many topics. Thank you. During my 10,000 mile checkup I specifically requesed they run the TSB on my 2012 FFE. They told me it wasn't needed for my vehicle. If you talk to your dealer would you ask him if the TSB should...
