See one coming up at auction so I'd buy it to flip. Assuming it still has the original battery, and if I do any service and repair (excluding the battery) would anyone pay more than $4000 for it?

Does it even run properly? How do you know the battery didn't swell and leak? I'd say stay away. There are easier ways to make money.

I was high bidder at $1200 but they want $2500.
It’s odd. There is now a federal rebate for used vehicle bought through a dealership. I sold my 2015 FFE to Carvana in Chicago for over $6,800. I suspect they shipped it to CA where they understand electric cars.

I went straight to the bank.

I also have a 2015 with only 40K miles, and I got an email from Carvana this week that my value went down to $6,765. to tell the truth I'm hoping it will make it to mid 2025 when the Tesla 25K car is supposed to debut. The FFE has been a great car, it looks and runs like new, the only maintenance expense has been a new 12v battery ($50 at Walmart), but it's nine years old, knowing I could walk out to a bricked car at any time is kinda like playing Russian Roulette.
