    New Recall - Differential Assembly

I got the differential recall completed this past week along with the telematics control unit reprogramming. Took 10 days and they gave me a rental car during that time at no charge. Other than it taking so long and the slowness of service at the dealer, it was not a problem. So far it seems to...

1 Year In, thoughts on my FFE

I have never noticed a noise so far. I almost wish it did. I leave it open way too much and then feel stupid when I get out of the car.

1 Year In, thoughts on my FFE

We do have parallel lives. I go by the Norwalk station all the time. I once wanted to use the train but there was not enough parking. Of course no electric charging either. Your comment about the boring driving is very true. My father-in-law loves fast cars, shifting...he looked at it and...

1 Year In, thoughts on my FFE

My impressions of owning the FFE car are excellent. It's not perfect but it really is the best car I could own today. I actually feel special and worry others will find out about electrics and ruin it. Positives: Commute: I mostly use it for my 36 mile daily commute in the Orange county/Los...

Should I have Ford dealer service at 10,000 miles?

Wow, that is cheap. Will try it out and see if my Southern California dealer will do it that cheap. Thanks!

Should I have Ford dealer service at 10,000 miles?

That is a good point about all the other things that they will likely do during the inspection. Probably worth it. My experience with the dealer is that I never get out of there without spending a bunch. If I go I will report back on the cost and what I got for it.

Should I have Ford dealer service at 10,000 miles?

I just reached 10,000 miles on my 2016 FFE. So far I've had absolutely no problems. The manual advises getting the tires rotated, fluids topped off and a general inspection. Does anyone have an idea how much this would run and is it really necessary? I am cheap and I was thinking of just...

    Tire Pressure monitor

I also recently had the yellow triangle warning about low tire pressure. Each tire turned out to be low at around 28-30. I thought it would warn earlier since they were getting very low. Of course I didn't check it for 6 months so that's a problem. I am surprised that there is no individual tire...

    2017 specific forum section?

I don't think it is really needed unless there are specific 2017 only related issues such as battery, fast charging, or recalls. Maybe that is needed.

Looking to buy a used FFE

    Sudden range loss of 30%!

I live in the Los Angeles area and noticed the same thing too. Typically a full charge is about 80-90 but it dropped to about 65-70 full charge when the cold spell hit. Very abrupt. Either it is charging less in the cold or maybe related to using the heater. It was first time I used it since I...

Ford is building the 2017's now, and 115 miles of range

I am surprised that the price hasn't gone up. Possibly due to a lowering of battery cost? I was expecting a 1-2 K bump up.

30 Amp vs 40 Amp Charging

You should go ahead and install the 50 amp circuit breaker and wiring. It's not that much more expensive. As for level 2 charging, the speed of charging is much better. Well worth it. I got a plug in version of the EVSE. No problem so far...

    New Recall - Differential Assembly

I think that is common language in all safety recalls. They warn you that doom is right around the corner. I think it is partly because so many people ignore the recalls. I'm willing to do it...I just want to be assured that when I bring it in they will get it fixed promptly...
