    New Recall - 3G modem?

No update, Ford has not replied after I told them that cycling power to the TCU (modem) did not fix. I suspect that it is a SYNC2 compatibility problem with the new modems. I'm looking forward to getting my hands on v3.10 (currently have v3.8). The TCU can push car information to the web server...

    New Recall - 3G modem?

It was not the update to V3.8 that caused the problem, everything worked fine before and after. It was changing the modem (TCU) that has caused the failure of value profile sync. The modem had to be replaced because the AT&T 2G network is being decommissioned after Dec. 31.

    New Recall - 3G modem?

I upgraded last summer to SYNC2 V3.8 which Ford Sync website claims is the latest version for 2014 FFE. Further experimentation shows that the modem (Telematics unit) has no problem pushing car info. to the MFM server, it's when you try and sync from the MFM that it fails. Manually updating...

    New Recall - 3G modem?

OK modem upgrade update! To restore Value Charge Sync function tried uninstalling and re-installing car in MFM. Re-install verification worked and history was retained but did not fix problem. Ford support escalated to the engineering team who advised pulling Fuse F1 and re-installing. No...

    New Recall - 3G modem?

After 15N04 new modem install (one trip, 4 hours w/ power control software upgrade), all worked well except that Value Charge Profiles fail to sync on MFM ("Value Charge Profiles have failed to sync"). All other MFM functions work, I can query the car via MFM, etc. It has been suggested to...

    Cup Holders

Well, yes. The brake lever arm is cast aluminum and therefore non-corrosive, the pivot points are well greased, and the liquid drains off and into the carpet and soundproofing before evaporating. Small quantities inadvertently spilled in the cup holder should be OK.

    Cup Holders

OK, spilled tea update. I unsnapped the cupholder/seat heater switch assembly and looked underneath. It appears that small quantities of liquids (</= cup) spilled in the cupholder drain down harmlessly into the carpet and over the parking brake lever system. The only wiring in the area is the...

    Cup Holders

Does anyone know where the center console cup holder drains to? My wife spilled a cup of tea that drained through the bottom. The dealer advised "bringing in the car for a checkout" because it could "cause a wiring problem". Would ford really put a cup holder drain hole into a wiring space?! I...

    Battery not holding enough charge

I think it's a good idea to have a full discharge cycle every once in awhile (few months?) to reset the SOC calculations. SOC is very difficult to determine in Lithium chemistry batteries because the cell voltage is relatively constant over the discharge cycle. To calculate the SOC the...
