It took me about 3 days to figure out that the cargo management system had to go. That was after things kept falling out of the rear hatch every time I opened it. I don't know who would design a cargo management system with a top that angles down towards the hatch.
Once you remove the cargo...
We bought both of our EV's out of state. Both dealers sent the documents via FedEx and we sent them back in both instances. Maybe California has different rules.

I was referring to the Bridgestone Ecopia Tires that came on the LEAF which proved to be 20,000 mile tires.
The Michelins on the FFE look like they will go longer.
The UTQG rating on the Bridgestone Ecopia is 400.
The UTQG rating on the Michelins is 480.
The UTQG rating on the...
I just want to put something on the table that may or may not be an issue.
When we first got our Nissan LEAF in March 2012, we had the "official" AeroVironment charger installed in our garage. AeroVironment is the preferred charging solution for Nissan as well as Ford. (just a note: Levitron...
"Charging - LEAF SV has DC quick charge available for extra $$$$ - slight advantage to LEAF"
Just a little point of order here. We have the 2012 LEAF with the DC quick charge port. We have had the car just over 2 years.
We have never used the quick charge port because there are no quick...
Our EV's are in North Carolina. So we get all four seasons, but not the extreme cold and snow most of the time. On the dash the cold weather does indicate decreased range, but it's not anything that has caused us an issue (because of our mild climate). It may be an issue in extreme cold...
I need to point out that the $7500 federal rebate is actually a tax credit against federal taxes that you owe. If you owe less than $7500 in Federal taxes then you will not get the entire rebate. For example if you owe $3000 in Federal taxes then your tax credit would be reduced to $3000 and...
This is a good deal for someone. It's going to cost you $221 a month for 24 months to pick up this lease. (total $5304) That is pretty inexpensive for a $40,000 vehicle. It's also less than $3000 a year to drive a new car. That is the cheapest that I know of for driving a nice new car...
Ford will not let a dealer order or sell a new Focus EV unless they are a certified EV dealer.
When I was looking for the Ford Focus EV, I had a heck of a time finding one of those certified dealers. I finally called Ford customer service and asked them where the dealers were. They were...
In our circumstance the Leaf and the Focus motors seems to make an equal amount of noise. (not much noise at all) You just don't notice it until you get into a regular ICE vehicle. The only exception being some sort of fan that continues to run, for a few minutes sometimes, after you park...
I haven't had a flat tire in over 20 years up until the time we got these EV's. We have a Dodge Grand Caravan with 140,000 miles and it has never had a flat. Same thing with a Toyota Camry with 51,000 miles.
The low profile rubber tires that they put on the EV's seem to be more puncture...
For those that are reading this thread and trying to decide between the LEAF or the Ford Focus Electric, I'll give you my two cents. We have one of each.
We got the LEAF first and a year later got the FFE as we learned how to integrate an electric vehicle into our lifestyle. We drive about...
I'm not really an Apple guy except for the iPhone.
But why do I get the impression that if Apple had done the SYNC instead of Microsoft; that the dam thing would have worked really well?
The SYNC is typical Microsoft.
