Real Range for 17 or 18 FFE

Bjørn Nyland has discussed this on his You Tube channel. A wet road increases the rolling resistance of the tires. There is a research paper (*) I found online with real data. A few quotes: "At 80 km/h, 0.65-mm thick water film increases rolling resistance by over 50%," "The increase of rolling...

    Buying a 2017 FFE

OK, cool. I'll "run away". Their "Internet price" is $29.2K then minus $3.35K dealer incentive, then a reduction of $850 to get to $25K.

    Buying a 2017 FFE

$25K before tax incentive. I will only get the Federal incentive, so net cost of $17.5K

    Buying a 2017 FFE

So I'm working on buying a 2017 FFE w/o leather from an out of state dealer. Current dealer offer is $25K, then I pay for shipping and sales tax in my home state. I would qualify for the Fed $7.5k tax credit, but my state has no additional incentives. Any thoughts on the price? I leased a...

Its starting to get cold outside. How's your range doing

I have 37K miles on my 2013 FFE. I reset the trip meter every morning at full charge. I get about ~15.5-16 kWh before it's depleted . I've hit the "Depleted Battery Stop Safely now" message twice recently, but managed to coast home. I wish I had known about the kWh setting on the trip computer...

What to do at lease end

My FFE lease ends in Jan 2016. I'm hoping for good news from the auto shows. The Leaf will probably have 110 miles / 30kWh in some trims, but I don't really like the Leaf. The i3 is very quick and I like the driving and feel, but it's expensive and has conspicuous styling. The e-Golf has the...

Driving in NC snow traffic jam

So I drove my FFE through southern urban snow gridlock. Stats: 1h 50m to drive 14 miles from downtown Durham to RTP 600 Wh / mile with lights on, heat on, heated seats on, wipers on. Total trip was 8.5 kWh Background info...

    Cabin preconditioning not working

Anyone know what a 3.3kWh 240V 16AMP Level 2 will do in terms of cabin pre-heat ? Something like the Aerovironment TurboCord or Bosch Power Max 16A.

    First Range Challenge

Hey now, I take my kids to preschool and kindergarten every weekday and we are perfectly warm and safe. The kids love "charge up car" and they love plugging it in and watching the ring glow.
