28K miles here on my 2012. No issues to speak of other than a couple SSNs around the 3K mile mark that were addressed quickly after they were in the shop. Otherwise, zero maintenance or worries. Plug it in and drive. Lease will be up in Nov and we will miss it I'm sure. Probably going Tesla...
Focus Electric plus Fusion Energi here. Great combo. Range on Energi isn't as good as Volt, but it makes up for it with seating for 5 (a must have for me) and much, much better looks IMO. My wife gets free charging at work, so we charge off-peak and solar at home 1 way on that. We love them!
I was hoping to see this as a S/W configurable option. Not so much for battery life, but because I live on a steep hill that goes about 1.5miles. If I shift to low I can pick up anywhere between 7-9 miles of range by the time I'm at the bottom. It would be nice if Ford would let us charge to...
my knee hits the headlight switch all the time. Surprisingly the headlights don't drain the battery as much as you might think if you do leave them on.
FYI...Summer tier pricing goes into effect at midnight. You're gonna be twice as much per KwH if you consume at peak periods, more if your baseline is higher.
I would recommend it to a friend for sure. I would caveat it by saying that it should be a 2nd or 3rd car. I would also recommend a LVII charger and to switch to a TOU plan. I would also encourage them to find a deal ~$200/mo with nothing out of pocket (state refund wash nets zero). Then, it...
Recently my CC has started coming on automatically at every start. It is very thoughtful to set it at 70* every time, but it frankly shocks my wife and I when we see the mileage drop. Is this a software glitch or a configurable? I don't recall changing anything in settings?
I live in the south Bay Area, CA (Silicon Valley). Tons and tons of Leafs and quite a few Volts. I have seen more Mitsubishi Miev's than Focus electrics! Actually I haven't seen another, save for the one on the floor of the auto show in January.
I don't mind the anonymity. At the same time...
I tried, but couldn't find, an online shop manual.
In essence, with any modern doorpanel you just want to remove any lever escutcheons, courtesy lights, holding screws, etc..., and then just pop the door panel clips off around the perimeter. Best to use platic interior tools as they won't mar...
My right rear door does the same thing. Just a little bass in whatever music I happen to be listening to makes it vibrate. It is a busted speaker. I'm sure they awarded the contract to the lowest bidder and cut corners where they thought they could. Get it warrantied. Doors panels come off...
Thank you for the reply Yoyogee, and for giving me something to consider. I've always been kinda skeptical of the solar guys just because there hasn't been much regulation and the tech is changing so quickly. However I have an open mind (I'm driving this car after all). Just curious - who did...
So my average this time of year is about $500-$560. But we were pretty conservative this year. Electrical was about $500 of that. Total kWh consumption was up to 1700 vs 1200 in the year ago period (+/-). So, in analyzing the bill, I'm clearly going to have to move to E-9B if I'm going to...
