I find myself needing a bigger more executive car these days. My lease ends in December of this year. The payment is $285/month. 10 more payments (I'm making the January payment already).
Silver, 15k miles, 36k miles allowed (if I remember correctly). Nav, Bluetooth, cloth interior.
Range is...
So I lease transferred my '13 FFE. I pay ~285/mo (no sales tax here in Texas). It currently has 15400 miles. I'm not sure my total miles allowed, but I won't hit it lol.
Lease ends 12/15. Due to this thread I went and checked out my values/residual/etc.
My current buyout is ~$21k. My...
As someone with significant track time (in a previous life)... couple things.
You need to pull that driver floormat (hopefully they force you to). It can jam under the pedals and you'll have a bad time.
By the time you put on sticky tires and different wheels you've basically killed most of...
I would NEVER buy this car at the end of the lease. Too much risk and very little upside -- and the lease end price will be more than the car is worth (residual set too high). In fact I'll go so far as to say that anyone that BOUGHT an EV (FFE, Leaf, Volt, i3, etc) is a fool unless they...
Couldn't find a one here in Dallas. Ended up with a lease transfer which saved me about $125/month and it's a shorter term. If that's an option for you you might consider it.
Yesterday I had to go to a far client (about 23 miles round trip at 65-80mph the whole way). I also went to lunch (about 3 miles) and from my office to home (5 miles). I had the ac on (welcome to Texas) and had 18 miles of indicated range when I got home. I don't hyper mile or anything like that.
My juice is $0.079/kwh. I've calculated that for the first couple weeks of driving I'm spending about 2-3 cents/mile. I drive short distances mostly so I drive more aggressively (so have a higher average usage than I could have).
If you think in terms of $/mile, the FFE is very, very hard to...
Obviously high on everyone's list would be more range... but beyond that.
For me:
1. black interior option. I HATE, HATE, HATE tan/beige/dingy looking interiors.
2. Auto locking when you walk away from the car (my caddy has this and most cars I have with aftermarket alarms have this and I'm...
I used golden key to ship my ffe from NJ to Dallas and it was $900 (got it last week). This is a fantastic deal. I would have gotten it if it had been available when I started my hunt. Fwiw, from the time I initiated the transfer til I got the car was about 2 months.
The one by my house is found... but when I tried to buy one there they were definitely uninterested. I've got to get the license tag stuff dealt with first :D
I'm leery of taking to the dealer here. There aren't many FFEs here (I've seen one) and I don't think the dealerships are electric certified as this market (Dallas!) isn't technically allowed to sell FFEs.
I just got my "new to me" FFE and as I'm coasting/braking to a stop I can hear the rear brakes. Is this normal and just in an ICE you'd just not be able to hear it? It sounds like a dragging pad if any of you have experienced that previously.
