new Tesla Model 3 looks like Focus Electric!

In the forums they've been analyzing the sideview PR photos (using the wheel size as a reference). Consensus is that the overall length is about 168" making it about 5" shorter than the Focus. The key is that the wheelbase is about 118" - about 14" more than the Focus. By bob-tailing the...

Lower battery capacity without less range

Although the trip meter accounts for regeneration, some tests that I did last year lead me to believe that there is an accumulative error introduced. ie the more you regenerate, the less well the trip meter correlates with the SOC. -Perhaps you are braking more efficiently these days,...

Car has no power - Any Ideas

Don't rely too much on the myfordmobile alerts. The two times that my battery drained (like Michael's, no discernable reason), the car didn't send out an SOS until I woke it up by opening the door.

My observations and impressions about battery degradation

Your ETE was 18.5 about a year ago - What does your current full charge ETE read?

///Sounds good to me/// . -- Correction; as noted below by hybridbear: you need the wifi version of the OBDLink MX for IOS. - I suggest you spend some time reading through the FORScan forums; It's been a year since I went through them and I haven't looked at the IOS discussions at all except...

Corrected post: Forscan Lite for IOS only works with the wifi version of OBDLink FORScan has IOS software that should work with OBDLink MX. Search iTunes for FORScan Lite. http://forscan.org/documentation_iOS.html -btw, that IOS documentation might help Android users also since the Android...

OBD Scan Tools Info / Data

OBDLink MX (Bluetooth) works well for me with FORScan. From discussions on their forums, it appears that they have made improvements that allow the cheaper ELM327's to work (if I can find my $15 one, I'll try it out with the android app). The Android version seems to have several more modules...

First problem with FFE after 8,000 miles

It sounds to me like the Battery Monitoring System could have gotten stuck in rebalancing mode where it applies a 100mA balancing charge to the battery. When my battery suffered a cell failure, 48 hours on the charger resulted in the good cells charging to a higher voltage than normal- in my...

FFE developing a "charge fault" problem

Over the past couple of weeks I've gotten up in the morning to an MFM range estimate that read 1/2 to 2/3's of what it should on 3 different occasions. Updating didn't change anything but when I went out to the car and started it, the GOM gave me a good number (and a recheck of the MFM showed a...

    battery capacity is going down

17 kWh sounds like it is within measurement error of being fine (while being inconsistant with a 2 hour charge time). Although use of the tripmeter seems to be one of the more accurate methods of checking capacity, there does seem to be some measurement error introduced during regeneration. [...

    Regen KW Curve

On the ForScan monitoring tab there is a Save-log-data button. It will save whatever you had last monitored (start to stop). Most of the data is recorded at about 20ms, but I have recorded over an hours of data without problem. I save as CSV file and then dump into a spreadsheet for analysis.
