Not for me. :( Maybe it depends on your location?
I installed the update last night, primarily to see this change. I can still "find charging stations" through Siri, but the "Destinations" list still shows the pumps.
I guess it varies. The ones around here that are not free are usually $0.35/kWh, with a $2 minimum. The city will be converting one free one to $16/hr. (L2 here are almost all free at the moment.)
But at $0.15/minute—the price charged at a couple of stations in Goleta—that would be $4.50 to...
I'm not sure what you're saying about the speedometer, but you will get used to the buttons on the steering wheel. The buttons are logically laid out, and the ones "under" the wheel are shaped so you can almost think of them as just one big button.
I would love to see an exhaustive review of...
I imagine the speed limiter setting has more to do with electricity and induction, but I'm no electrical engineer. I agree that it is just on the edge of acceptability for highway driving.
Well, Facebook has a group called "Ford Focus Electric Club - Jordan" which has over 9000 members. It's hard to imagine there are that many FFEs there, but (at least according to Google's translation services) they do seem to be having on-topic conversations on the group.
According to owner.ford.com, my system was updated on May 26, three days after I brought it home from the dealer. It seems that OTA updates are working, or they are lying about the installed date.
1. SYNC3 supposedly automatically checks over Wi-Fi for system updates. I don't know when it checks, but it would be good to have Wi-Fi available when it does.
2. You're not always at home when you charge. A public charging station with Wi-Fi access is a very nice place to watch YouTube/Netflix...
My math and basic high school physics puts it around 5 Wh/m. For 1000', that would be almost dead on that 1.5 kWh estimate. (To be safe, I'd probably use total elevation gain, ignoring regen, because I imagine that you only regen 80% or 90% of what you put in to climb. So Langley to Manning...
Can we assume you made it back safely, Chris? I'm curious about your experience, lessons learned, etc.
I'm particularly curious about the numbers, like how much allowance (kWh) one should make for elevation gain, how much to expect from regen for elevation loss.
Very daring! I thought about doing a similar trip—not as far as Revelstoke, probably just Kelowna—but got scared by the scarcity of chargers within range beyond Hope.
Another thought I had was to see if I could make a one-way 150 km trip tomorrow morning (July 1, natch), which for me would mean...
If having a foot on the brake is required during the shutdown sequence, then I must just be in the habit of doing it. I've had my car a month and hadn't noticed that this was necessary.
It did take me a few days to train myself to depress the brake enough when turning the car on. If I was too...
