Nav is probably in a bad state. You can try popping the nav card out then re-inserting, or you can reboot the system by removing My Ford Touch's fuse, then plugging it back in.

Can you post the sound here? I think others are right in that its the battery cooling system or the car energizing the power braking / power steering system due to the proximity of the key. Do you have the key nearby or are you unlocking/opening car doors when you hear this?
