    Parting thoughts on our FFE

Only the driver window is both auto up and down. The others are auto down only. A minor inconvenience in the grand scheme of things, but we used the windows a lot so it was nice to have on the Focus. As far as the handling, the Bolt is definitely not as athletic. It plows a noticeable bit more...

What features do you miss? The only feature I feel like the FFE has over the Bolt is that all the windows were auto up/down. Otherwise, the Bolt is pretty much better in every way equipment wise. I do wish the Bolt had the FFE's 50/50 weight distribution. It would improve the handling some more.

Funny enough, the suspension rattle was not particularly audible from the inside of the cabin. I only really found out about it because my brother told me one day as I was driving up his driveway that there was a rattle coming from the suspension area. By that time, the car was less than...

    Parting thoughts on our FFE

After 3-years and 24k+ miles, we turned our FFE back into Ford. It was a great car and delivered an impressive 113 mpge while offering up decent versatility. The short range was largely a non-issue, but did restrict our travels a bit. Luckily, we have access to several vehicles so it never...

    Saying goodbye to the FFE

After three years, we say goodbye to our FFE that has served us well. A few thoughts comparing the FFE to its replacement: http://www.eastwestbrothersgarage.com/2017/10/comparison-2014-ford-focus-electric-vs.html A few parting shots:

I still contend that the "software issue" you are referencing is only a small contributor to the overall loss in performance compared to the basic power to weight ratio. For instance, another car with a similar 25 lb/hp power to weight ratio is the Toyota Prius, which also sports a similar 10.5...

You cannot deny, however, that there is going to be a noticeable difference in acceleration between a 3640 lb car with 143 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque (FFE with 25 lb/hp, 19.73 lb/lb-ft) versus a 3,540 lb car with 200 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque (Bolt with 17.8 lb/hp, 13.38 lb/lb-ft). That nearly...

End of lease? What are you doing?

If you can sit in a Honda S2000 comfortably, you'll be fine in the Bolt. If cars like the Miata and S2000 are too small for you, you might struggle a bit with the seats in the Bolt.

Did you get your car from a dealer in Cerritos? If so, I actually used your deal to get the numbers work backwards to calculate my deal.

Honestly, it was difficult for me to let go of the Model 3 as well, but the numbers simply were not working out. The problem with the Model 3 leases is that it is too new to have reliable data for the lease residual values and the numbers for the Model S and Model X have not helped because those...
