My new '17 FFE consistently gets above the EPA rating. I regularly average under 200Wh/mi in town in the midwest; I think you should be fine with your commute in SoCal. There is a great break down of real world ranges in this thread here...
In my Energi, the electric motor does all engine braking in L unless the battery is completely full (then the engine turns on to provide engine braking). Since the electric motor does the "engine braking", it regens the battery more than when coasting in D. You can modulate the brake pedal to...
Well my C-Max is the Energi version, so the electric motor does all the breaking in L mode (like in the FFE). In theory then, the FFE should allow a higher regen rate since it has a much larger battery that can accommodate it.
Is there a way to increase the regen while in L with software? I feel like my C-Max Energi has much higher regen in it's L gear. Not sure why the two cars would have different levels of regen programmed in. Thanks!
Thanks for the tips! I decided to go for it, and I just picked up that new '17 FFE last week! Got it shipped here to IN from NJ. Super pleased so far. If there is any degradation, I haven't noticed any this week...guess-o-meter reads between 120-130mi on a full charge with mostly city driving...
Any magnetic field generated by the car won't have any dangerous effect on your children's bodies. MRI machines operate at over 5,000,000 mG with little to no effects (rarely some slight vertigo). You are good to go!
Thanks for the info! It’s the high voltage battery I’d be worried about. I was told that I should expect some battery degradation if the car sat too long at the dealer without being plugged in since the cooling system wouldn’t be on.
Need some help please! The new 2017 FFE my local dealer said they can get shipped in is from NJ, but original invoice date is late April of 2017 (so about 11 months ago). The NJ dealer said that they routinely turn the car on and move it around the lot so tires don't get soft spots. But, that...
