I think the noise is in a compressor for the brake booster.
It is much louder than the Volt, however, it is much quieter and faster than what I had to use for my homemade BEV Ranger.
Umm actually it can moved into R...opps. :) Here's the cool part. The reverse video comes up even after you move it back into neutral, and stays on until you put it back in D.
This is definitely NOT recommended as something you do intentionally.
Yikes TP...
I was hoping that Ford was getting on top of this problem, sorry to hear CLUB SSN has another member. Right now I am riding around with a flight recorder in the FFE in the hopes that it will catch the problem. So far, it ain't happening. Let me ask you this, what was the...
Go where to show power draw? The only place I have found that you can see energy usage is in the "Trip" log, on the left DIC. However, Ford has set that up so you can NOT get an instantaneous look at energy usage. It runs the mi/wh up to 999 and then it comes down from there as you drive...
Seriously, it makes no sense to charge with a generator on a regular basis. For starters you will burn more gas than if you just bought a Plug-In.
Also you run the risk of frying some electronics given that generators produce notoriously unclean electricity.
If your instance on the FFE was...
Those are disappointingly low efficiency numbers, IF that is just for the charger.
I wonder if the HVAC was running to cool the batteries and charger? What is a hot day? Had you just driven the car and then initiated charging or did they battery have some time to cool down before charging...
"removed and replaced the #1, 5 amp fuse, in the left rear fender fuse box and voila, it is fixed."
Just to be sure, when you say "removed and replace" you mean you put the very same fuse back in place, so it is simply a matter of killing power to the telematics for a moment?
Keep getting this message when I plug in, even though I do not have any scheduled charges. Charging is set to "charge now."
Anyone else experiencing this?
Picked up my FFE today, after 3 weeks in the shop. Drove the 80 miles home.
Car has been kicking out tons of "charging fault" messages to mfm while at the shop. Was told not to worry.
Got it home and plugged in and that's right "charging fault." To the point where it stopped charging...
It is not just you. I can't see it anymore either. Same thing happened with similar post on FFE.COM
Yeah I kind of did this post as an experiment. I don't see a way to post the image directly, only the link to the image. So looks like that link is going bad for some reason.
Maybe I can...
Here are the confirmed changes for 2013 Ford Focus Electric. Although, apparently Ford can "change or modify" without notice. To wit, they deleted all of the 2012 stuff from my 2013, AND they stuck me with the 2 way adjustable head restraints that push my wife's head forward.
If you need to go 150 miles/day and recharging from the grid during the day is not possible, then you sound like a candidate for a Volt or a Plug-In Prius or CMAX energi or Fusion Energi. Their engines are way more efficient than any generator you can buy.
There are calculators to help figure...
