National Drive Electric Week

Being a new FFE owner I am going to attend my local event in Long Beach, California on Sept 17th.

So far I am the only FFE registered. Has anyone been to one of these events before? Looks like it would be fun to attend.

Thanks for this! I was hoping that something may be happening locally. I've contacted my local event in Toronto - I hope they have charging available, otherwise I won't be able to attend.

This would be one crux of having a low range EV and a showing event past 1/2 of your max range.

I went to the one here in So Cal last year. My son and I had fun counting the number of pocket protectors we saw (in other words, a bunch of engineer geeks there!! I can say that, since I am an engineer, although I don't use a pocket protector!). The best part was being able to test drive a Tesla Model S P90 with the Ludricous mode. Man, that thing was fun to drive!! There were also a few folks there that had done EV conversions on older cars, I was particularly fascinated by a guy that had done a transplant on a Porsche 914.

I have an invite to go again this year, but unfortunately I'm busy this year, with a cross country meet for my son.

Luckily for me the Long Beach event is only about 10 miles away from my house. I won't need to charge up. Glad people are interested. My wife told me that only geeks would be going so I guess she is right about that. I am a scientist so I fit.

When I had my FFE I visited a local event twice, and displayed my FFE in the event another year.

I have to say that the event here in Michigan--at least in Ann Arbor--does seem to be getting bigger each year. Especially now that they found a decent location (for a few years there it was all over the place..like the mall in 2014).

Not sure if I'll be taking the C-Max to this years event or not--even after driving it for over 6 months I still feel like I'm "cheating" in it LOL.
