Quite a few members have blogs. I quite enjoy reading those blogs but I can't keep track of all of them or visit them regularly to see if there are new posts. I thought I would create a thread where all the members who have blogs could come and post a link to their blog entries as they write them along with a brief synopsis. Then owners like me could come to this thread and click the link to go to your blog based on the link & synopsis you posted.

What do you think?

Many of us who started blogs via the contest and forum host can be found in the same spot:
http://myevblog.com/

That page will show the most recent posts from all of the "myevblog" blogs.

Whats really interesting there is that its all EVs, not just FFE's.

I went to that site and didn't find many posts of interest. I'd still rather see the blog writers post a brief synopsis of their posts on here plus a link to that post.

Okay, I'll start...

http://ev-vin.blogspot.com/2014/04/current-36-month-lease-offers-for.html

It's a list of lease deals from plug-in manufacturers that's updated monthly.

I also track lease deals from dealers on a weekly basis on this list. Updated every Friday night. But don't worry, I won't post here every Friday just to tell y'all I've updated it!

This week there's a great deal on a Focus Energi Titanium from Sunnyvale Ford... $239/mo for 36 months, $2500 to start, 10.5K miles/year.

Here is an entry where I recorded the % Battery level (and estimated range) while the car charged:
http://jamiegeek.myevblog.com/2014/11/22/how-does-the-ffe-charge/

I've also posted this in the battery and charging area as I would expect there to be much discussion about it:
http://www.myfocuselectric.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=2444

(Thus if you'd care to comment on it I would suggest you go to that topic and not pollute this "blog entry reference" topic with discussions on a single blog post.)

http://ev-vin.blogspot.com/2014/11/return-to-magic-kingdom.html

This one is about our second trip to Disneyland in an EV, and dealing with being ICEd when we got there.

Took the trip in the RAV4 EV, so the post isn't really FFE-related, except that it was the first time I actually talked to another FFE driver in person. I'm seeing more and more FFEs in the wild here in So Cal!

Wow imagine that you saw a Blue Candy (BC) one. I'm beginning to think that is the most sold color of FFE! (Yeah ok this is anecdotal evidence: I know the most popular car colors are white, silver, and black.)
Just today I saw another BC one driving down the road (they were behind me far enough that I don't think they noticed that my Focus was also electric). This makes about six (including mine) that I've seen or know of in my area all in BC. Not to mention that I see at least two or three BC ICE Focuses daily.

Fun adventure. Does the Disney parking staff ticket & tow cars that ICE the EV spaces?

Thanks hybridbear! I didn't explicitly ask them to tow the ICE, but when I asked if my RAV4 was at risk of being towed, she said that they really can't tow anyone from the parking structure because there's no room to do so. Based on that, I'm guessing that they wouldn't be able to clear an ICEd spot.

jmueller - Not completely sure, but I believe that was the first BC I've seen! Interesting to hear that you've got a lot of them in your neck of the woods. Most of the ones I see are oxford/platinum white (usually can't tell which, i.e. when at speed), then Ice Storm, then silver.

Ford teamed up with an artist to promote the plugin vehicles...including the FFE! Surprise surprise:

New to the world of EVs, I just posted the introduction to my FFE that my wife and I acquired just less than two months ago.

Thanks for sharing. Very neat blog!

Ford put a pic of the Focus Electric on Instagram today from this photoshoot.

What about that heat? (Not what you think, a rather esoteric post discussing the radiator in the FFE and its reason for being--yeah slow blogging day LOL):

LOL! I guess its not a slow blogging day. I give you EV distribution in the US by population:

Hybridbear: Perhaps you could give us a hint to MN's appearance on the map? (Tax incentives?)

Wow this is a good post, not by me, and for an i3 but winter range loss affects all of us EV drivers:

Really surprising to see MN on there! There are no tax incentives here. However, we do have a very active local EV owners group (http://www.pluginconnect.com/mnpevowners.html). There is a relatively high concentrations of hybrids in MN as well. The city of Minneapolis has made many efforts to promote hybrids. Our last mayor (who was in office for 10 years) always drove hybrids as his city-provided vehicle. He had a couple of Prii and a Gen 1 Fusion Hybrid. During his time in office the city replaced much of its fleet with Gen II Prii and Escape Hybrids. The state of MN has also purchased many Escape Hybrids, that's what the majority of DNR employees drive. I think that these attitudes have rubbed off causing people to also look at EVs. Based on the source link provided by Jamie to the original article it appears that they're including PHEVs in this number. As I posted about at regarding our NDEW event, we have about an equal distribution of Volts to Leafs in our local owners group. I see more Volts than Leafs on the road, at least 2-to-1. With so many people having owned hybrids, it's only a small step to jump to a Volt.

Started a series of posts about the different displays available in the FFE:
The first one (and one which there was some discussion on here about): Range View

Energy History:
http://jamiegeek.myevblog.com/2015/02/08/energy-history/

I'll probably make a few more in the series (I'm thinking like 2 or 3 more)....

Another programming bug I've noticed relates to this screen. This bug is present in all Ford hybrid/electric vehicles I've driven (Fusion Hybrid, Fusion Energi, C-Max Energi, Focus Electric). We usually keep the Energy History set to 30 minutes. Sometimes the display will show "5 min." even though the interval is still set to 6 minutes for a total of 30 minutes on the graph. The graph continues to update every 6 minutes even though the display says "5 min." as in the pic posted in Jamie's blog entry. Changing the interval to 1 or 2 minutes, going back to the graph, then changing the interval to 6 minutes and then returning to the graph fixes the display issue.

Normally the display under the graph is "5 min" or "10 min" or "30 min" with no period. When you see the period you know the display has gone goofy.
