Steering wander at Freeway speeds

My FFE (brand new) tracks fine at lower speeds, but a freeway speeds 60,70,80mph tends to wander in the lane. This appears to be independent of asphalt roads and concrete roads with grooves. [Both are locally prevalent]
Is this a known experience? [I am assuming this is due to engine and car lightness, small wheels, etc. (All the things that go into making a electric car increase its range)]
 
Some others have complained about this, or something similar, but not everyone appears to experience, or notice, it.

I think somebody once mentioned that a similar phenomenon has been reported with other Ford vehicles that use the same electronic assisted-steering mechanism.

This Special Service Message (SSM) outlines a fix:
SSM 44911 - 2012-2014 Focus - 2013-2014 Escape - Difficult To Maintain Straight
Driving Line
Some 2012-2014 Focus built on or before 9/15/2014, 2012-2014 Focus ST built on or
before 10/31/2014 and 2013-2014 Escape built on or before 7/7/2014, may exhibit a
concern of difficult to maintain a straight driving line at freeway speeds.This concern
may only be present during long distance drives. The customer may report that the
steering feels sticky at the straight ahead position and constant steering corrections are
required. To correct this condition, reprogram the Power Steering Control Module
(PSCM) to the latest calibration using IDS release 93.05 or higher. Calibration files can
also be obtained at www.motorcraft.com. For warranty claiming, use causal part 3504,
and use applicable 12651D labor operations in SLTS manual Section 10.

This SSM was published 1/28/15.
 
When new, my car was a bit darty. After an alignment it was much better, completely acceptable. This was reported in my post two above which is almost a year old.

Last week I hit a curb in a parking lot and the car again became darty. I had another alignment and now it's good again.
