Thier maybe times when you need to take your FFE on a trip that is longer than 75 miles. Your first thoughts maybe that this can't be done with a limited range vehicle. But in reality what is required is some planning. A prime example would be you have found a Ford dealership that has a FFE in stock that you wish to purchase. The problem is that it's 200 miles from your house. With some planning it is possible to cover this distance. It could be done by charging the car at the halfway point for 4 hours, and driving at speeds of 30 to 45 MPH with the climate control off. The slower speeds will give you better range. But trying to get a 100 miles out of a charge would be cutting it close. A smarter choice would be to add two charging stops at a distance of 65 to 75 miles. When planning where you are going to make your stops make sure thier is an alternat charging station you could use just in case. It would also be wise to have activities you could do while you are charging your car (movies, shopping, eating out).
Your plannning aids would be apps like plug share, and charge point.
If you allect to use a private charging station be sure and contact the owner with your charging plans. Since most private charging station are located in garages.
Most public charging station do require a card to access the station, or you can sometimes use the phone number to get the station remotely activated.
