I have 20k miles on '16FFE and tires are bold (did a rotation at 10k)
Anyhow my tire guy (not the dealer) claims Michelin is pretty good at "refunding" some of the cost if buying a new set...he puts the odds at 50%.

Since I am going to spend over $200 per tire (same as original) installed I really think I could use some goodwill from Michelin.

I have done this a couple of times with Michelin (and other brand tires) on my other vehicles. It all depends on whether the tire has a mileage warranty. I buy my tires at America's Tire (also known as Discount Tire in some parts of the country), and have had no issue with this.

These are the original tires and they had a 65k mile pro-rated warranty ...insane my front tires were pretty worn out at 10k already
I think the back tires could have done 30k though if I had not rotated.

the way the power is applied on the front tires probably does not help but it not like its a high performance drive!

20k seems like a pretty short life for a LRR tire. The compound is harder on a LRR tire to gain efficiency over traction. Come on. You know you love those silent burnouts. Don't lie to us.

Aren't mileage warranties not applicable to new car purchases? At least that's what I've read in the last couple new cars I bought.

Check Costco for tire replacement if you haven't done the replacement already. I think this coming weekend they are doing $0.01 per tire installation, and $70 off 4 Bridgestone tires.

Pretty sure they will cover tires on a new car. Not sure where you go to make the claim though (guessing it isn't Costco).

Let us know how you do - I'm guessing the money will be really small and the service charges will be high.

Amazing that the tire booklet is 31 pages long. For something as simple as tires, that sure is a long manual.

Well here you go, first hit from a Google search. You are totally covered.

Mileage Warranties & Limited Warranty
All MICHELIN® tires4 (both Replacement & Original Equipment) come with a limited warranty for treadwear, as well as a limited warranty which covers defects in workmanship and materials for the life of the original usable tread, or for 6 years from date of purchase, whichever occurs first. Mileage treadwear warranties vary by tire line. For the specific mileage treadwear warranty for your MICHELIN® tire, see Michelin Brand Mileage Treadwear Warranties.

Treadwear
If a tire is covered and wears out evenly across the face of the tread
before delivering the warranted mileage, Michelin will replace the tire
with a comparable new MICHELIN® replacement tire on a pro rata basis.
This means that you will be responsible for paying a portion of the cost.
The Michelin tire retailer will determine the portion for which you will be
responsible by multiplying the percent of mileage received by the current
actual selling price at the adjustment location or the price of the tire in the
current Michelin Base Price List, whichever is lower. You will be responsible
for paying in-full the cost of mounting and balancing the tire, and the cost
of any other service charges and applicable taxes, including PAX Gel/Gel
3 packs.
Tires which wear out evenly before delivering the warranted mileage will
be replaced on a pro rata basis only if:
1. You are the original purchaser of the tires, you own the vehicle on which
they were originally installed, and the tires have been used only on that
vehicle;
2. The tires have been rotated and inspected every 6,000-8,000 miles
(10,000-12,000 km), or as specified by your vehicle manufacturer,
whichever rotation period is less, and the attached Mounting and
Rotation Service Record has been fully completed and signed.
3. The completed Service Record form, Original Owner/Tire Installation
Information form, and the original Invoice are presented to a participating
Michelin tire retailer at the time of adjustment claim, and
4. The tires have not become unserviceable due to a condition listed under
WHAT IS NOT COVERED.
HOW DO I GET A REPLACEMENT?
Take your tire to any MICHELIN tire retailer. The retailer will require that you
provide one or more the following:
1. The vehicle on which the tire was used,
2. Personal identification (e.g. Driver’s License),
3. Your vehicle registration,
4. Payment if you owe a pro rata share for the replacement,
5. A completed Service Record form, and Original Owner/Tire Installation
Information Form,
6. Your original invoice and copy of this Owner’s Manual, and/or
7. For treadwear replacement claims, documents showing that your tires
have been rotated and inspected every 6,000-8,000 miles (10,000-
12,000 km) or as specified by your vehicle manufacturer, whichever
rotation period is less, and the attached Mounting and Rotation Service
Record has been fully completed and signed.

Great news ...my tire guy got 60 percent refund from Michelin and that brought the total for 4 news tires installed to $339 (instead of almost $900)

so why did they include tire warranty papers (booklet) with the car.
For defects and workmanship. I just bought a new car that has Kumho tires and it doesn't have a mileage warranty.
