Found an amusing article on Plugincars.com called 'The EV-haters Guide to Hating Electric Vehicles'

It starts like this:

1. Electric vehicle are way overpriced
Point to the Tesla Roadster as your only example. If someone mentions the mid to high 20s Nissan Leaf, or the project cost of under $30000 for the Ford Focus Electric, perform a lengthy comparison between an electric car and a $12,000 gasoline car over a 25 year period.

2. Charging the cars will crash the grid
Try to forget that most charging of the Ford Focus Electric will happen in off peak hours. Forget that the electric vehicle charger draws 3.someting kilowatts and your clothes dryer draws 4 or more.

3. Electric Vehicles are worse on the environment than a gasoline car
Point out that producing electricity to charge a Ford Focus Electric emits pollution too. Also mention that the Ford Focus Electric's batteries will end up in a landfill in a few years when they wear out.

4. Electric Vehicles are a status symbol for eco-minded snobs
Remember electric vehicles are a symbol for something that you hate - it's not just a car.

5. Electric vehicle sales are a flop
Don't mention the huge unmet demand and production bottleneck that has occurred, and definitely don't mention the long waiting lists. Quote the small sales numbers and actual deliveries of the Nissan Leaf as your only evidence.

6. Mention the limited range every other sentence
Don't forget to bring up the one piece of evidence that is actually true - make sure to complain about how 100 miles isn't very far. Tell everyone that the Ford Focus Electric will only work for commuting to work and around town, not for lengthy road trips which happen almost as often as you go to work.

7. Don't mention fuel costs
Everyone knows that fuel costs could keep rising, so you don't need to bring it to the forefront of their minds when trying to convince them the Ford Focus Electric isn't for them!
