Random Electric Car Company - Wright Speed

Sometimes I wonder what all these random electric car companies do. Does the Ford focus electric ever have any chance of partnering with a company like Wright Speed?

What does Wright Speed even do in the electric car industry?

A microturbine generator keeps the Route going all day on diesel, CNG, LNG, or landfill gases.

So electric wagon with a gas generator. I'd guess it's slightly more effective. But I see double the incorporated costs to make this.

To me it doesn't seem electric cars have gone much further than R/C cars by way of technology. We're in nearly 2014 it doesn't make sense why companies arn't sharing some info that would better the world rather than 1 guys pocket book.
